Teak Leaf composting

Teak Leaf Compost

Compost is one of the most appealing fertilizer that a plant want. It can also used as potting soil.It is very easy and cheap to make compost at home.Compost can be made using different materials including manure, food waste, unwanted vegetation etc... In this blog i am going to discuss the method of making compost at home using teak leaves. Teak leaves are rich in carbon,by composting we can convert this fallen teak leaves into useful manure that plants love to be fed upon.Another importent thing is that composting is organic in nature.

The materials you need for composting
  1.  Old flower pot(medium to large in size can be used)
  2. cow dung(small quantity for layering)
  3. some green matter(unwanted shrubs)
  4. curd(expired curd is more preferable)

Lets get started
  1. Take the flower pot, make a hole for drainage purpose
  2. crush the teak leaf into very fine powder
  3.  powder the cow dung also
  4. grind the green shrub matter into thin slices
  5. Mix all the ingredients together
  6. Add water to the mixture to make a slurry out of it
  7. Introduce some earth worm into the pot
  8. If possible, add some curd to the pot so that the earth worm will decompose the compost easily

Be cautious about the moisture content of the slurry it should not be over moist or dry.It will take about 2-8 weeks time for the aerobic micro organisms to convert the waste in to manure.Make sure that you stir the slurry once in every two days as this will increase the oxygen supply in the composting pot.If you are in a hot climate area you should water once in a while to the slurry else if you are in a cold climate area do not forget to add more green stuff into the compost pot as this will heat up the compost matter. After about 8 weeks your compost is ready to be used.even though any material can be composted i am using teak leaf because leaf is easily available at no cost.By composting leaves we can reduce the plant waste in our lawn and create your own compost.Teak compost is most efficient than other compost because it is proven by nature ie, the mother nature forest.Teak forest has the most fertile soil than other forests. It is rich in carbon in-order to enrich it with nitrogen we use green matter.

I believe that i shared my knowledge about teak leaf compost in a fair manner. If any one need any help or want to convey any suggestion or has any doubt please add a comment i will give reply as soon as i see it.

She was born to a Maharashtrian family at Kashi (now Varanasi) in 1835. At a tender age of four, she lost her mother. Her father raised her in an unconventional way and supported her to learn to ride elephants and horses. She also took formal training in martial arts, which included shooting and fencing. ( A picture depicting rani Lakshmi Bai on horse back with Damodar) In 1842, she married Maharaja of Jhansi, Raja Gangadhar Rao Niwalkar. On their wedding day, she was given the name Lakshmi Bai. In 1851, she gave birth to a son. Sadly, the child did not survive for more than four months. Gangadhar Rao fell sick and became very weak in 1853. So, the couple adopted a son and name
